It’s Never Too Early to Stress About Christmas…

So I know that it’s a little early to start talking about Christmas, but I was in the store the other day and they already have Christmas decorations for sale, so I figured this would be okay! Now, as a biased mom, I think that all of my children are brilliant, but the pure genius of my middle son may have put me in quite the pickle! Here’s my dilemma: he has already requested a video game for Christmas. Not such a big deal, you say? Well, this isn’t just any game – this is a game he has created.

For weeks now, he has been thinking about characters and challenges and levels that he could put in his game, and then he just lists these out for Santa. Now how do I does Santa make that happen? I mean, I think it’s pretty smart for a six year old to come up with his own video game – definitely too smart for mommy to figure out! And here’s the kicker – he has had AWESOME behavior. He was already pretty awesome to begin with, but now, any time he even thinks about making a “bad choice” he just stops and says, “Nope, I’m not going to do that! I’m being good for Christmas!”

So how do I put a smile on this sweet boy’s face on Christmas morning? Because that’s what I really want to do! I want him to know how proud we are of him – and I don’t want him to be disappointed! But I haven’t quite figured out how to make that happen…any ideas???

On his first Christmas, he was pretty happy just playing with the wrapping paper…it’s not so simple anymore!

  1. I was also going to recommend Jr Video Game Maker camp. James LOOOOOVED it! I know several kids who have done it multiple years in a row.

  2. Alana,

There’s a video game making camp at school in the summer-maybe he could get a voucher for camp with a not from Santa about how cool his game idea is?

  3. I’m still thinking…😉
